This Company In Brief
Bannoura Sinks is a Michigan company that imports and sells sinks and the things that go with sinks, including faucets, under at least two trading names, Strictly Sinks and S STRICTLY KITCHEN + BATH.
The company imports almost all of the products it sells from China and Vietnam.
The faucets are geberally of above-average quality. The designs are contemporary. There are no traditional or even transitional designs in the collections.
The company has mastered marketing, selling through its proprietary website and over just about any website that hosts third-party sellers.
It has, however, been less diligent about ensuring that its faucets are legal to sell and install in a drinking-water system.
The Company
Bannoura Sinks, Inc. was formed in 2016 by five members of the Bannoura family, Andrew, Nichilas, Amir, Matthew, and Michael.
Its original business model, according to the company, was to sell good-quality sinks business-to-business to contractors, plumbers, and decorators in the greater Detroit area.
It did not take long, however, for the family to expand not only their products but their marketing reach, using the internet. It opened its current website strictlysinks.store in 2018, just two years after the company was formed.
Today the company's catalog lists just about every type of decorative plumbing fixture, fitting, and accessory available for a contemporary kitchen or bath.
Related products are available through sister companies. These include:
- Strictly Appliances, selling Zline kitchen appliances manufactured in Turkey and China [1], and faucets under the brand.
- Detroit Diamond Tools sells tools and other products needed to fabricate tile and stone.
Business Model
The company sells under two tradenames: "StrictlySinks" and "S STRICTLY KITCHEN + BATH." Both names are registered as "assumed names" with the Michigan Secretary of State as required by law. [2]
S STRICTLY KITCHEN + BATH is also registered as a U.S. graphic (logo) trademark. It is not registered in Canada.
Sales are almost exclusively over the internet at its proprietary website, strictlysinks.store, and at venues that host third-party sellers. These include:
All of these sites sell sinks and sink accessories. Some do not sell the company's faucets.
Manufacturer
The manufacturer of Bannoura faucets is Jiangmen Anmei Industrial Co., Ltd. (also known as Lanerdi Sanitaryware Ltd.).
This company is a respected Chinese manufacturer of kitchen and bath faucets, shower systems, and bath accessories that it sells globally (except in North America) under the Lanerdi brand name.
Anmei specializes in manufacturing faucets for private-label brands.
It also manufactures faucets for both of which sell uncertified faucets over internet venues.
Faucet Materials
The primary materials used to make Bannoura faucets are brass and stainless steel. Either material is suitable, but each has its advantages and drawbacks.
Brass
Bannoura's bathroom faucets are made of brass. It is the traditional material from which faucets have been made since the modern faucet was invented in 1845 by the English firm of Guest and Chrimes.
Standard (alpha) brass is a blend of copper and zinc with a small amount of lead (1.5% - 3.5%) added to make the material more malleable, less brittle, and easier to fabricate. Brass is the preferred material for faucets for two reasons:
- Brass is strong but easy to work with. It casts, forges, and machines with relative ease compared to, for example, stainless steel.
- Brass is naturally antimicrobial. The copper in brass kills microbes, including bacteria, retarding the build-up of potentially hazardous germs inside a faucet. Stainless steel has absolutely no antimicrobial properties.
But brass has one serious drawback: it may contain metallic lead used to make the alloy less brittle and more malleable so that it casts and machines without fracturing or cracking.
Lead, however, is now all but banned in North America for use in any drinking water component due to its toxicity to humans, particularly children.
According to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), lead, even in small amounts, causes slowed growth, learning disorders, hearing loss, anemia, hyperactivity, and behavior issues.
The amount allowed is faucet brass is a minuscule 0.25%, almost no lead at all. Regulatory agencies would prefer zero lead, but science has not reached the point where zero lead is possible. Current lead limits reflect what can be done with today's technology.
To comply with the restrictions on lead, today's faucet brass replaces lead with other additives to reduce brittleness without adding toxicity. The most common is bismuth.
Bismuth is similar to lead, right next to lead on the periodic table of elements, but it is not harmful to humans.
It is, however, very expensive. It is 300 times rarer than lead, even rarer than silver, which is the reason that bismuth-brass alloys are considerably more expensive than leaded brass.
The rising cost of lead-free brass has encouraged manufacturers to replace brass with other materials, primarily stainless steel.
The pioneers that first produced stainless steel faucets were the Italians. is widely credited with manufacturing the very first stainless steel faucet for domestic use in 1998.
Stainless Steel
Stainless steel was long deemed too expensive and difficult to process for residential faucets. The economics changed, however, with federal regulations that reduced lead content in faucets from 8% to the current 0.25%.
Manufacturers adopted stainless steel as the less costly alternative.
Bannoura's kitchen faucets are grade 304 or "food grade" stainless steel, a material that contains 18% chromium and 8-10% nickel. The nickel gives the steel a particular crystalline structure that increases its strength and malleability. Chromium (or chrome) helps the steel resist corrosion and convert the steel to a non-magnetic or "austenitic" material.
Another grade, 316 stainless, is known as "marine grade." Its composition of 16% chromium, 10% nickel, and 2% molybdenum makes it more resistant to pitting, corrosion, and staining, particularly in acidic or salt environments.
For kitchen faucets, 316 stainless is generally considered the better material, but it is much more expensive. It is the choice for seaside homes where salt corrosion is very possible.
Only a few manufacturers use it in their faucets, and they are uniformly premium priced.
for example, sells 316 stainless kitchen faucets made in Italy by Super Inox S.R.L. iIts upscale faucets are premium-priced, well above the cost of the most expensive Bannoura kitchen faucet.
Steel is harder than brass, so less of it is needed to make a faucet. It is more difficult to form and machine, however. The material is less costly than lead-free brass, but any cost savings is largely offset by the heavy-duty machinery required to manufacture in steel.
It is also difficult to produce faucet designs with intricate detail, particularly if the design is cast from molten metal.
Almost all stainless steel faucets are very simple designs in a tubular or rectangular contour. Rich detail is the province of brass faucets.
Zinc & Zinc/Aluminum Alloys
One legitimate way of reducing the material cost of a brass faucet is to replace expensive lead-free brass or stainless steel with lower-cost materials.
The most frequent substitute is zinc or a zinc-aluminum (ZA) alloy. One of the most common is called , a composition containing 4% aluminum.
ZAMAK is not as strong as brass and does not resist water pressure as well as brass. But its use in non-pressurized parts of a brass faucet such as handles, base and wall plates, and is common even among manufacturers of luxury faucets.
From examination, we determined that some Bannoura faucets use a zinc alloy, probably ZAMAK, for the non-pressurized parts of its brass faucets. Zinc does no harm when used in these components and may save consumers a few dollars on the price of the faucet.
Plastics
Plastics are another story entirely.
Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS) and Polyoxymethylene (POM), the most common plastics used in faucet manufacturing, are low-cost, easily manufactured, non-toxic, and impact-resistant.
Their use in base plates, aerators, and as casings for ceramic cartridges has been largely trouble-free, but otherwise, their use is suspect, especially if under constant water pressure. [3]
Among those suspect uses is in the spray heads (the industry term is "wands") of Bannoura's kitchen faucets.
Proponents of the material give three reasons for the use of plastic:
- Plastic does not get uncomfortably hot in use like metal wands;
- Plastic is not as heavy and is more comfortable to hold for long periods of time; and
- Plastic is a lot cheaper than brass or stainless steel – even cheaper than zinc.
However, both plastics degrade over time from exposure to ultraviolet and chlorine, a regular purification additive to tap water.
Long-term exposure to chlorine (especially in hot water) or ultraviolet (UV) radiation will cause the polymer to break down, crack, or become brittle over time.
UVB, the rays that cause sunburn, are blocked by glass, but UVA rays pass right through, so it is best to avoid plastic sprays on faucets installed under a kitchen window.
Nor are plastics as dimensionally stable as metal. They are significantly more sensitive to temperature fluctuations, moisture absorption, and a type of mechanical stress called that can damage the wand over time.
These characteristics make plastic wands suspect for long-term use in faucets—products that most consumers consider lifetime products.
Although engineers have made significant improvements to the reliability of plastic wands over the decades, the problems have not been entirely resolved.
The Sure Cure for Too-Hot Spray Wands: The simple cure for spray wands that get too hot is to reduce the temperature of the water. Dishes do not need to be rinsed in scalding water.
Faucet Components
A faucet is a very simple device. It is a tube through which water flows in a controlled manner.
It has just two critical components:
- a valve that controls the amount of water passing through the tube and, by blending hot and cold water, the water's temperature, and
- an aerator that shapes the water flowing out of the tube at the spout so it does not splash out of the sink.
If either fails, in all probability, the faucet either stops working or works poorly.
The Valve Cartridge
The faucet valve is what made water faucets possible.
The original Guest and Chrimes "Patent Water Supply Regulator", what we now call a "faucet" (and the British a "tap"), used a stack of leather washers pressed into a seat by a screw mechanism to shut water off.
With the leather stack replaced by a rubber washer, the valve became known as a "compression valve".
This is the mechanism that powered all faucets until the invention of the "washerless" valve by Al Moen in the mid-1940s.
The washerless valve had two advantages over the compression valve.
- It eliminated the rubber washer in favour of less vulnerable O-rings and
- By controlling both water flow and water temperature, it made single-handle faucets possible. Before the washerless valve, all mixing faucets had two handles.
Both of these valves relied on a problematic material, however – rubber.
The rubber washers and O-rings wore out over time and needed to be replaced periodically. Replacement was a chore most homeowners learned how to do every few years to prevent the dreaded midnight drip, drip, drip.
The modern ceramic valve solved the problem by replacing rubber with highly polished ceramic discs that mesh so tightly that water cannot flow between them. Unlike rubber, ceramic does not wear out. It is one of the hardest materials known to man. [4]
Ceramic disc valves were invented independently by two American faucet companies: [5] which separately patented versions of a ceramic disc cartridge in the 1970s.
Ceramic valve inventors, thankfully, adopted the second Moen innovation: housing the valve in a removable cartridge. To replace the valve, all that is required is removing the old cartridge and installing a new cartridge.
Bannoura's faucets are equipped with universal-fit cartridges from Sedal S.L.U., a ceramics company chartered in Spain that manufactures in China. It owns two Chinese facilities: Sedal Technical Ceramics in Jiangmen and Sedal Kaiping.
These are universal-fit cartridge valves patterned on configurations developed by the Italian technical ceramics manufacturer, Galatron Plast S.P.A., late in the 20th century.
Galatron cartridges were so reliable and so simple to manufacture that they have become the unofficial global standard and are made by nearly every company that manufactures valves.
Sedal's universal-fit cartridges are a favorite of Chinese manufacturers exporting faucets to Europe and North America. They are not the best mixing cartridges made. That honor is shared among Kerox Kft. of Hungary and several Italian ceramics manufacturers.
Sedal is, however, closing fast on these industry leaders, and its valves should provide reliable service for many years.
If a universal-fit cartridge should fail, its replacement is available from many different manufacturers at numerous faucet components suppliers. It is inexpensive (usually $20.00-$35.00) and relatively easy to replace with ordinary household tools. The likelihood that it will fail, however, is very small.
If a ceramic cartridge leaks, it is usually not caused by the cartridge but by mineral buildup inside the cartridge that prevents the two ceramic discs from meshing completely, allowing water to slip past. Learn how to remove mineral deposits at How to Clean a Ceramic Cartridge.
The Shape of Water
Aerators shape water into several types of streams. Here are the most common:

Aerated Flow:
To create an aerated stream, a device located at the end of the faucet's spout, called an aerator, introduces air into the water flow. - Air softens the stream, making it less likely to splash.

Laminar Flow:
Laminar flow is a less common process for producing a water flow that is splashless without infusing air. - Water droplets are constrained to travel along smooth, parallel paths without any intermixing or disruption between the adjacent columns of water.
- For home use, laminar flow is most often found in trough-style faucets, sometimes called "waterfall faucets".

Spray:
To create a spray, aerators re-route the water through tiny apertures that separate the single stream into dozens of tiny streams and simultaneously cut off air intake so the water is no longer aerated, making the spray more powerful. - Sophisticated sprays also increase the water volume, usually from 1.8 to 2.2 gallons per minute (the legal maximum flow) to give even more power to the spray for rinsing dishes.
Aerators
Faucet used to be simple devices that merely added a little air to soften the water stream so it would not splash out of the sink.
Today, however, they are carefully engineered devices that are also used to limit water volume to the lower flows required by federal and state water conservation laws and, in some cases,to prevent backflow that could result in the contamination of household drinking water.
It is important, therefore, that this little device, slightly larger than a dime, be the best available.
Bannoura does not disclose the source of its aerators. We had to get that information from the faucet manufacturer.
We found that the faucets are equipped with aerators made by the Swiss company, Neoperl®, the inventor of the engineered aerator. Neoperl has a reputation in the industry for the some of the best-made aerators in the world, little marvels of Swiss engineering.
Faucet Design & Styling
Bannoura does not employ outside designers or design its faucets in house. The designs are taken from its manufacturer's .
They are not original designs. Most have been around for decades and are manufactured by just about every Chinese company making faucets.
The designs are stylish but conservative, attractive enough but exhibiting no particular design originality or distinction.
As a rule, Chinese faucet styles are not adventuresome.
Although some Chinese manufacturers have begun producing original designs, some of which have won awards in international design competitions, these companies are the exception.
The goal of most Chinese faucet manufacturers is to sell as many faucets as possible, which means keeping their designs well within the mainstream to appeal to as many potential buyers as possible.
Most styles are adopted from Europe and North America.
A style that sells well in these major markets will be imitated by Asian factories (with minor changes to avoid patent infringement).
The lag time is usually 5 to 10 years, so by the time a design appears in a Chinese faucet, it is no longer a new style.
Bannoura's faucet designs fit this pattern. They are pleasant and often smartly styled, but most are over a decade old, and some have reached and passed voting age.
Some copied designs can be a little too close to the original. Bannoura's manufacturer, Anmei, was sued by the Italian faucet company, for infringement of its Intreccio lavatory faucet design.
Faucet Finishes
Strictly Sinks does not publish a finish chart. We tracked down the finishes on its website and found a total of eight.
Not every finish is available on every faucet. Four finishes is the average. Some faucets offer as few as two.
Some kitchen faucets are available in in which a base finish is paired with an accent finish. The base color is inevitably matte black.
Bannoura does not identify the finish processes used by the company's suppliers on its website.
But, based on inspection and non-destructive testing, we believe that stainless steel is native, chrome is electroplated, and the rest are physical vapor deposition.
All of these processes produce very robust finishes, but the PVD process is the most durable.
Stainless Steel
Bannoura's brushed stainless steel finish is most likely a native finish. The stainless steel material of the faucet is polished and sanded to give it a pleasant brushed appearance. Since stainless steel, unlike brass, is immune to visible corrosion, it does not need an applied finish to protect it from the environment.
Stainless steel tends to show fingerprints easily, however. The brushed surface helps hide them along with the inevitable minor scratches that on polished stainless would be all too visible.
Electroplating
involves immersing the faucet and the metal to be used as plating in an acid bath, then applying an electrical charge to both objects so metallic ions are drawn from the plating metal to the faucet.
Usually, multiple coats are applied, one or more undercoats and then two or more coats of the finish metal.
The process is potentially hazardous to the operator and the environment. It involves toxic and corrosive chemicals that must be disposed of safely. No other coating technology even comes close to the dangers involved in electroplating.
The top coat may be polished or brushed.
Chrome, a relatively hard metal, is usually polished to a high shine. Nickel, a softer metal, is typically brushed to help hide the inevitable minor scratches.
Physical Vapor Deposition
or PVD, is one of the latest space-age faucet finishing technologies, rapidly replacing electroplating as the finish of choice.
Although the technology was discovered in the 19th century, it was not used in industry until the 1950s and then only rarely due to its great expense. Its first use was inside nuclear reactors and to protect NASA rocket components.
Today, the technology is everywhere, and the machinery required is getting smaller, faster, and cheaper all the time.
The process requires a special sealed chamber.
Load the chamber with unfinished faucet components. Remove all the air, and replace it with a carefully calculated mix of nitrogen or argon and reactive gases.
Add a rod of the metal to be used for the coating. Heat that rod to a temperature so high that the metal atomizes, dissolving into individual atoms. The atoms mix with the various reactive gases to get the color and finish effects you want and are then deposited in a very thin layer – 2 to 5 microns – on the faucet components.
A micron is one-millionth of a meter or 1/26,000 of an inch. The average human hair is 83 microns thick. The smallest the human eye with excellent vision can see without magnification is about 5 microns.
Despite being just microns thick, a PVD coating is extremely dense and, in consequence, very hard and durable. By some estimates, it is up to 20 times more scratch-resistant than electroplated chrome.
Finish Durability
Some finishes are more durable than others. Here are the Moen faucet finishes and their durability from most to least durable.
- is the old standby. It is a tough finish that will stand up to most abuse. but its durability depends on the metal used.
- Chrome is durable, nickel less so because it is inherently a softer metal (the reason chrome replaced nickel as the faucet finish of choice in the early 20th century.)
- (PVD) finishes are 10 to 20 times more scratch-resistant than electroplated chrome. They are also not affected by most household chemicals. In our experience, they are largely invulnerable to harm.
- is essentially a paint applied in a powdered form and then heated in an oven to cure. It is considered semi-durable with about the same scratch resistance as the finish on your car.
From long experience, we know that PVD is nearly impossible to accidentally scratch or mar, never fades or changes color, and resists all forms of soiling.
A PVD finish can usually be maintained with just an occasional wipe from a damp cloth to remove water spots.
Finish Care Instructions: Always read and follow the faucet seller's care instructions. Careful cleaning and maintenance not only preserve the good looks of your faucet but also your finish warranty, if any.
Faucet Warranty
Bannoura provides a limited lifetime warranty on its faucets.
It is reasonably well written but probably not by a lawyer. An attorney, well versed in warranty law, would not have made the elementary mistakes that appear in the warranty, one of which clearly violates the federal Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act (15 U.S.C. § 2301), the federal law that prescribes the form and content of consumer product warranties.
Illegal Disclaimer
That error is contained in this provision:
Federal warranty law expressly forbids a company providing a consumer warranty to exclude, disclaim, or deny coverage by state-law implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for purpose.
A company's written warranty is intended to supplement state law warranties, not replace them. Any attempt to disclaim state-law warranty coverage can be completely ignored. It has no legal validity whatsoever. (15 U.S.C. § 2308(a))
Misleading Language
The more serious problem with this disclaimer, however, is that it is misleading, and one of the three cardinal rules of Magnuson-Moss is that warranty language must not mislead a consumer.
This provision would almost certainly lead a reasonable person not unfamiliar with warranty law to believe that a defective faucet would not be covered by state-law product warranties—and that is the very definition of deception under the law.
If it is intended to mislead, it could be a prosecutable offense under Section 5 of the Federal Trade Commission Act prohibiting unfair and deceptive trade practices. (15 U.S.c. § 45)
All states, provinces, and territories in North America have laws requiring that consumer products be fit for their ordinary purposes and conform to an ordinary buyer's expectations.
This is the implied warranty of merchantability. It derives from English Common Law and is the law in both Canada and the U.S. It automatically attaches to every sale of a consumer product by a merchant.
A product is merchantable if it serves its ordinary purpose. A faucet, to be merchantable must dispense metered amounts of temperature-controlled water on demand.
A merchantable product must remain merchantable for a reasonable amount of time. How much time varies with the product. A faucet that leaks after one or two years is probably not merchantable. One that doesn't leak until its 20th anniversary probably is—a faucet, like all products, is not expected to last forever.
Magnuson-Moss refines state warranties of merchantability by providing uniform national standards for form and content and banning certain questionable practices, but it does not supersede them.
We doubt, however, the company is being deliberately deceptive. No doubt whoever wrote the warranty saw the language in some other warranty and copied it, unaware of its illegality, a common mistake of unschooled warranty writers.
Under Magnuson-Moss, however, deliberate deception is not required to incur liability for misleading a consumer in a product warranty. It is sufficient that the company has not taken reasonable care "to make the warranty not misleading." (15 U.S. Code § 2310(c)(2))
The very presence of the provision in this warranty, however, evidences a lack of reasonable care. So there is a real possibility of civil liability.
Undefined "Lifetime"
Another problem with the warranty is lack of definition of the term "lifetime."
The warranty is for a lifetime, but what is the measure of lifetime? Is it the lifetime of the owner, the lifetime of the faucet, or some other lifetime?
We don't know because the term is not explained.
We presume it is the lifetime of the owner since the warranty extends only to the original owner and cannot be transferred to a subsequent owner.
Federal warranty law, however, does not permit presumptions. Everything must be clearly defined, including the duration of the "lifetime" specified in the warranty, and the events that terminate lifetime coverage in "simple and readily understood language." (16 CFR § 701.3(a)(4))
Omitted Ownership Requirement
Yet another problem arises not from the warranty's language but from a crucial omission from the warranty's language.
The warranty does not require the original buyer to continue to own the faucet for the warranty to remain in effect. And that is a rookie mistake.
Consider this situation:
The original faucet owner sells his house. The Bannoura faucet goes with the house. A year later, the faucet starts to leak. The new owner does not have a warranty because under the terms of the warranty only the original owner has a warranty.
But can the original owner make a claim on the warranty for the new owner's benefit?
Well, let's see.
The first question is whether the warranty is still in effect.
It is.
The only event that terminates the warranty is the death of the original owner, and since he or she is still alive, so is the warranty.
The second question is, can the original owner make a valid warranty claim?
Almost certainly.
Nothing in the warranty requires the original owner to continue to own the faucet in order for the warranty to remain in force.
Since it is still in force, the original owner can make a valid, enforceable warranty claim that Bannoura would be legally obligated to honor.
Clearly the Bannoura warranty needs a major rewrite.
Testing & Certification
Bannoura claims that all of its faucets are certified to North American standards. Unfortunately, we were not able to confirm the claim.
A few faucets have been tested by an independent laboratory and found to comply with all of the laws and regulations governing the installation of drinking water faucets in North America. These include the very strict North American lead-free and drinking-water safety standards.
Most Bannoura faucets, however, have either not been certified at all or have been certified to the basic faucet standards but not the lead-free or drinking water safety standards.
Only faucets fully certified under a Bannoura brand to comply with all North American standards may be legally used in a drinking water system in any State or Territory of the U.S. or any Canadian province
Here are the details:
Legal Bannoura Faucets
No Bannoura faucet is legal to sell in the U.S. However, you can still legally buy a faucet even though Bannoura Sinks cannot legally sell it to you. The risk of fines and penalties is on the company, not you, and that risk is considerable.
Only 7 of about 30 Bannoura faucet models are legal for installation in either the U.S. or Canada, and two of these appear to have been discontinued, leaving just five legal faucets currently for sale. No kitchen faucet is fully certified, although some are certified to the basic faucet standard. The rest have no certifications at all.
That may change, of course, and you should confirm the certifications of any Bannoura faucet you may be thinking of buying by asking the company for a copy of the certificates in which the faucet is listed. Make certain it is a legitimate certification that contains the faucet's exact base model number. (If you are not sure, email it to us at mailto:starcraftreviews@yahoo.com. DO NOT INSTALL an illegal faucet in your home. If you do, it is you, not Bannoura, that pays the resulting fines and it is you and your family, not the company, that are at risk of harm from the faucet.

In Conclusion
We are not entirely sure what to think about these faucets.
The company is sound and in the past has been diligent about keeping its faucet certifications up-to-date. Recently, it seems to have dropped the ball. None of its faucets are registered as required by federal law, and only a fraction have been fully certified.
The company has worked hard to succeed and deserves its success. It simply needs to pay more attention to the minutia of selling faucets: registration, certification, and warranty. It's all very boring, and the impact on the bottom line is not immediate, but it is critical to long-term success (and the avoidance of stiff fines and penalties.)
Bannoura faucets are made by a reputable Chinese manufacturer manufacturer that is well-respected in the industry. They are priced between $125.00 and $350.00, right in the "golden zone" for mid-priced faucets.
Were they registered and certified, we would strongly suggest them as a brand to be carefully considered by anyone looking for a reasonably priced contemporary faucet.
The warranty is strong, although defective. The defects, however, largely benefit the buyer rather than the company, so they did not subtract from the company's warranty score. (However, the company should get it fixed. If the warranty ever ends up in a courtroom, it could be looking at a considerable problem. We have offered to assist with the process.)
We have engaged in a dialogue with one of the company's founders who informs us that Bannoura is in the process of getting the defects identified in this report remedied. It has reportedly begun the process of registering its faucets with the Department of Energy and taking steps to ensure that its faucets are fully certified.
We will follow its progress, and as matters improve, we will update this report.
At the moment all we can suggest is that if you are interested in a Bannoura faucet, look only at the few certified models until the company gets its act together. Otherwise, consider one of the comparable companies listed above. Many sell virtually identical faucets.

- Assumed or "fictitious" names are a normal business practice. StarCraft Reviews, for example, is an assumed name. The actual legal name is StarCraft Media LLC. - Some low-priced faucets are made almost entirely of plastic. These are commonly used in RVs and campers where water pressure is very low. In a household water system they are generally limited to temporary use until the real faucet arrives.
- If ceramic disc valves are so durable, how can they leak over time? The answer is mineral-laden water. In the 85% of North America that has hard water, minerals can build up on the discs, preventing them from fully closing, allowing water to slip through. - Wolverine Brass invented and patented what are now called stem cartridges. They regulate the volume of water flow, but not water temperature. It replaced the compression valves still being used to control two-handle faucets up to that time. A few months later, American Standard patented the ceramic mixing cartridge for single-handle faucets. This cartridge regulates both water volume and temperature. It has replaced the washerless cartridge for single-handle faucets. Even Moen, which hung on to its washerless cartridge for longer than it should have, has finally switched to ceramic mixing cartridges.
